The Chinese government has banned the production, sale and use of disposable foam plastic tableware from January 1, 2001 for the following reasons:
1. It is difficult to recycle the foamed plastic tableware after it is used up;
2. Some of the foaming agents used in the production of enterprises are butane (i.e. the gas of lighters), which is easy to catch fire and unsafe;
3, products at high temperatures (> 65 ℃) pests easily dissolution, use unsafe, especially used in the microwave oven is easy to melt;
4. Large volume of products, inconvenient transportation and storage;
5. It is not easy to decompose, pollutes the environment and is harmful to human body;
6. Alternative products (corn starch tableware) are available.
